No More Social Security Notices
Because of budgetary constraints, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has stopped sending annual statements that summarized individual payments into the system and estimates of what one will receive depending on the year of retirement. It is not known when, or if, the government will resume mailing these annual benefit estimates.
The SSA has also suspended indefinitely the Form SSA-7004, “Request for Social Security Statement” service.
Individuals who need to verify earnings information can call the SSA directly at (800) 772-1213; TTY – (800) 325-0778, Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 7:00PM.
Estimates of various Social Security benefits can be calculated on the SSA website at http://www.ssa.gov/planners/calculators.htm
